Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm; some evenings and weekends may be required

Work Calendar: 12 Months

This is a grant funded assignment with a projected end date of 06-30-2026 with renewal based on available funds and the needs of MCCCD.

Job Summary

Researches, writes, edits and produces long- and short-form reporting on state/national assignments for broadcast and digital platforms. Consistently produces compelling, impactful content in a timely manner. Serves as an in-depth, beat-focused reporter and subject-matter expert who can analyze news developments, data and trends and speak and write about them with authority.

Essential Functions
  • 40% – Edits broadcast content including short and long form reporting
  • 30% – Edits multimedia content, including content for digital platforms, pod and videocasts, and live events
  • 20% – Directs staff in developing stories, sourcing and series production.
  • 10% – Directs reporting teams and coverage to accomplish newsroom goals and other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution in journalism, radio/television, broadcasting or directly related field and four (4) years of broadcast (radio/television) editing…
