We are seeking an experienced Accountant to manage full-cycle financial operations for our independent insurance agency. This role requires extensive, hands‑on expertise in Applied Epic, specifically within its accounting and reporting modules. You will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of our general ledger, premium trust accounts, and commission reconciliations.
Location- On-site (Preferred): This position is primarily based at our office to foster collaboration.
- Remote: We will consider highly qualified candidates for a remote arrangement if they demonstrate expert‑level proficiency in Applied Epic workflows. If remote candidate, quarterly/semi‑annually meeting will be required at our office in Tempe, AZ.
- Salary Range: $80,000 – $90,000 per year (commensurate with experience).
- Retirement: 401(k) plan with employer matching options.
- Full-Cycle Accounting: Manage Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and General Ledger within Applied Epic following GAAP standards.
- Premium Trust Management: Oversee premium trust and operating accounts, ensuring strict compliance with fiduciary requirements.
- Reconciliations: Perform complex reconciliations for carrier statements, direct bill commissions, and agency bill transactions.
- Direct & Agency Billing: Process carrier downloads (IVANS), imports, and manual commission statements.
- Month-End/Year-End Closing: Prepare monthly and annual financial reports, including producer/broker commission statements and profitability analysis.
- Workflow Optimization: Evaluate and refine Applied Epic accounting workflows to improve efficiency and data integrity.
- Payroll: Familiarity with the payroll process. Preferable experience with processing payroll via ADP/Paycheck/Quickbooks.
- Experience: 3–5+ years of accounting experience specifically within an independent insurance agency.
- Applied Epic Expertise: Deep technical knowledge of the Applied Epic management system is mandatory
. - P&C Knowledge: Thorough understanding of Property & Casualty (P&C) workflows and trust accounting.
- Technical
Skills:
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs) for data analysis and reporting. - Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience with Applied Analytics or Applied CSR
