Responsibilities
  • Perform initial assessment appropriate to the patient’s clinical presentation, diagnosis, care setting, age, development level, and cultural and religious orientation.
  • Identify and prioritize the need for further assessment based on the patient’s clinical presentation, care setting, desire for care, and responses to any previous care.
  • Initiate discharge planning for each patient upon admission as appropriate.
  • Perform interventions identified for each nursing diagnosis on the Interdisciplinary Plan of Care.
  • Assist the physician with procedures in the operating room, including cardio‑thoracic surgery and coronary artery bypass surgery.
  • Set up and maintain sterility in the operating room per AORN guidelines.
Qualifications
  • One (1) year operating room experience in an acute care facility and/or surgery center.
  • Minimum two (2) years’ experience circulating for cardio‑thoracic/coronary artery bypass surgery.
  • Completion of an accredited Registered Nursing program.
  • Registered Nurse with current California RN license.
  • Current BLS, ACLS certification from American Heart Association.
  • Current PALS (AHA) preferred.
  • CNOR preferred.
