- Perform initial assessment appropriate to the patient’s clinical presentation, diagnosis, care setting, age, development level, and cultural and religious orientation.
- Identify and prioritize the need for further assessment based on the patient’s clinical presentation, care setting, desire for care, and responses to any previous care.
- Initiate discharge planning for each patient upon admission as appropriate.
- Perform interventions identified for each nursing diagnosis on the Interdisciplinary Plan of Care.
- Assist the physician with procedures in the operating room, including cardio‑thoracic surgery and coronary artery bypass surgery.
- Set up and maintain sterility in the operating room per AORN guidelines.
- One (1) year operating room experience in an acute care facility and/or surgery center.
- Minimum two (2) years’ experience circulating for cardio‑thoracic/coronary artery bypass surgery.
- Completion of an accredited Registered Nursing program.
- Registered Nurse with current California RN license.
- Current BLS, ACLS certification from American Heart Association.
- Current PALS (AHA) preferred.
- CNOR preferred.
