Director of ICU
The Director of ICU is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care delivery, with 24-hour management of the ICU department. This role provides administrative leadership for nursing staff development and operational management in collaboration with support services. The director contributes to the hospital's mission through support of its philosophy, educational initiatives, and research. Key responsibilities include ensuring patient, employee, and physician satisfaction scores are within acceptable ranges, leading efforts to improve core measures and compliance with Joint Commission standards, and fostering ongoing communication with nursing staff.
The director proactively identifies staff needs, resolves issues to enhance patient care, and supports nursing leadership initiatives, ensuring new practices are adopted consistently and without bias.
