The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead and coordinate strategic initiatives across seven global Vascular sites. In this role, you will drive complex, high‑impact projects from planning through execution, ensuring alignment with business objectives and timelines. You’ll lead cross‑functional teams, manage resources, mitigate risks, and deliver results that support long‑term growth.

This position can work out of any of our US Vascular sites:
Temecula, CA;
Santa Clara, CA;
Westford, MA;
St. Paul, MN;
Minnetonka, MN;
Sunnyvale, CA.

Abbott Vascular provides innovative, minimally invasive and cost‑effective products for the treatment of vascular disease, including drug‑eluting stents, guide wires, balloon catheters, and peripheral stents.

What you’ll do
  • Coordinate input from multiple areas or project managers on related projects.
  • Develop project specifications, objectives, strategies, timelines and milestones using project scheduling software.
  • Identify resource requirements, cost, and time schedules; conduct risk assessments and develop contingency plans.
  • Lead cross‑functional teams through project planning and schedule development.
  • Define business or technical problems and develop alternatives for major business issues.
  • Anticipate long‑term problems, resolve current issues, learn, and adjust based on prior results.
  • Ensure projects integrate with existing programs and strategies to achieve business goals.
  • Recognize the broader implications of proposals on project outcomes and overall strategy.
  • Prepare and present project progress reports; identify problems, trends, and impact on success, proposing recommendations.
  • Analyze data to determine true causes of problems.
Accountability / Required Supervision
  • Negotiate project outcomes to meet time, cost, and deadline demands.
  • Maintain project expenses within budget.
  • Drive cross‑functional teams to meet milestones and deliverables agreed with senior leadership.
  • Act as the primary project contact with third‑party vendors.
  • Provide leadership on strategic business issues.
  • Ensure complete project scope within budget constraints and schedule.
  • Accountable for successful completion of tasks under direct or matrix control.
  • Allocate work loads to optimize resource use.
  • Solicit cooperation from diverse disciplines and functions.
  • Lead others in completing project tasks.
  • Manage decision‑making processes and act as final decision‑maker for conflicts.
  • Create a work environment that supports team effectiveness and delivers feedback.
Level of Interpersonal Skills
  • Interact with senior management to agree on significant program strategies.
  • Interface with other disciplines, customers, internal clients, and project staff.
  • Prepare and present written and oral reports and presentations to internal and external audiences.
  • Negotiate resources, both human and financial.
Required Experience

Education and Experience You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Successfully led several high‑complexity projects from beginning to end.
  • Demonstrated technical skills and management judgment appropriate to the project.
  • Expertise in PM tools and processes.
