Position SummaryThe Director of Contracts is a leadership role responsible for overseeing and providing strategic direction for the contract lifecycle, including negotiation, drafting, review, execution, and closeout, while ensuring compliance with legal and business requirements. This role reports to the General Counsel or other designated senior legal/contracts executive and provides leadership to the Contracts team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
The Director of Contracts will be entrusted with day‑to‑day oversight and direct handling of contract‑related processes across the organization, including subsidiaries. This includes managing and reporting on a wide range of agreements such as NDAs, contracts with drug manufacturers, healthcare providers, GPOs, and other commercial entities. The role requires a high degree of expertise in reviewing, editing, drafting, and negotiating contracts, as well as independently identifying contractual risks and proposing effective revisions and strategies to ensure alignment with business objectives and legal standards.
To succeed in this role, the Director of Contracts must possess exceptional attention to detail, be highly organized, and have excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively across departments. This role requires at least 8 years of experience in the pharmaceutical distribution and/or manufacturing space, with demonstrated expertise in managing complex contractual frameworks in highly regulated environments.
