The Nuclear Med Technician performs all nuclear medicine scans ordered by a physician, orders isotopes as needed, and maintains a clean, organized, professional work environment in the scanning room and hot lab according to Federal and State regulations. The Technician maintains radiation safety logs and badges, sets up radiation safety meetings, and supports the Radiation Safety Officer (R.S.O.) in Radioactive Materials License (RML) activities and staff training.
The Technician reports equipment issues promptly and performs additional duties such as stocking rooms, transporting patients, training new employees, and other related tasks as requested by the Imaging Lead/Supervisor/Director.
Job Duties
- Perform nuclear medicine imaging procedures and related electronic ordering.
- Maintain radiation safety documentation, badges, and compliance with regulations.
- Support the R.S.O. in RML administration and staff safety training.
- Report and troubleshoot imaging equipment problems.
- Assist with inventory, patient transportation, and training of new staff as needed.
- Current CPR certification required.
- ARRT or NMTCB certification required.
- Certification with CNMT (state license) required.
- Minimum two (2) years experience as a registered Nuclear Medicine Technologist with multi‑modality capability in an acute care facility.
- Diploma from an accredited nuclear medicine program.
