The Phlebotomist (Patient Services Representative I) is the front-facing representative of the organization, responsible for delivering accurate and compassionate blood collection services. This role emphasizes patient trust, specimen integrity, and strict adherence to safety, confidentiality, and quality standards in a fast-paced clinical environment.
PrimaryDuties & Responsibilities
- Perform daily phlebotomy activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.
- Draw quality blood samples and prepare specimens for laboratory testing following established procedures.
- Perform clinical and forensic specimen collection and processing with confidence and precision.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with policies and procedures.
- Ensure a safe, professional, and patient-focused environment.
- Demonstrate leadership behaviors with strong attention to confidentiality and accuracy of patient information.
- Promote a positive organizational image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
- Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
- to deliver quality, error-free work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Keyboarding and data entry proficiency.
- Customer service experience in a retail or service environment.
- Medical assistant or paramedic training.
- Flexible availability, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as required.
- California phlebotomy license required.
Required:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Certification:
Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in CA, NV, and WA).
Experience:
Minimum 6 months of phlebotomy experience required. One (1)+ year of phlebotomy experience preferred.
