Tax Preparer

Job Description

Seeking a knowledgeable, detail-oriented Tax Preparer to join our growing team. This role is ideal for a professional who enjoys helping individuals and businesses navigate tax compliance while identifying opportunities for accuracy and savings.

• Prepare federal and state income tax returns for individuals and small businesses
• Review client financial information, tax documents, and prior-year returns
• Ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with current tax laws
• Identify potential deductions, credits, and tax‑saving opportunities
• Communicate clearly with clients to gather missing information and explain results
• Maintain strict confidentiality of client information
• Stay up to date with tax law changes and filing requirements
• Support e‑filing processes and respond to basic client tax questions

• Previous experience preparing individual and/or business tax returns required
• Knowledge of federal and state tax laws and regulations
• Familiarity with tax software and electronic filing systems
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to manage multiple returns and meet deadlines during peak tax season
• PTIN required (or ability to obtain prior to start date)

• EA, CTEC, or other tax‑related certification
