We are now looking to recruit a Shunter at CML Telford for a full-time and permanent position.

Job Description

Shift: 4ON 4

OFF Nights - 18:00 to 06:00.

Salary: From £32,363 to £37,024 per annum, depending on experience and licence entitlement.

Observe and adhere to company rules, site procedures, and all aspects of Health & Safety and Hygiene at all times.

Manage own working time effectively in line with the Road Transport Directive.

Liaise with colleagues and ensure completion of shift reports.

Conduct daily checks, report any defects or damage immediately, and complete associated documentation.

Carry out trailer checks on loaded trailers and report to operations staff.

Complete trailer checklists and report to the operations desk.

Perform shunting duties, including relevant maintenance and safety checks.

Coordinate with warehouse control and goods-in staff to ensure smooth loading and unloading of trailers.

Complete vehicle downloads as per company policy.

Monitor services and MOTs, liaising with the Transport Office and service vendors.

Assist with fuel delivery and manual fuel dips.

Maintain yard cleanliness and tidiness.

Coordinate with the Transport Office regarding special promotions or livery schedules.

Manage the flow of traffic in and out of the yard.

Qualifications

Holding a C+E Licence is advantageous.
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
Adaptable and methodical in approach.
Conscientious and reliable.
Excellent communication skills for accurate information delivery.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure.
