Overview
Family Connect Safeguarding Team Manager (Social Worker) – 37 hours per week (permanent). Grade PO16 Qualified £53,460 to £56,724. Market factor allowance of £3,000. Full reimbursement of your annual Social Work England registration fee. Incentive Golden Hello of £5,000, paid in two instalments (paid pro rata for part time hours): £2,000 upon commencing employment with Telford & Wrekin Council; £3,000 when you have completed 2 years’ continuous service.
Responsibilities- The Family Connect Safeguarding Team Manager is responsible for Leadership, management, supervision, accountability and quality assurance for a group of social work and other staff within a specific service area to ensure that the service provided is of a consistently high standard and meets the needs of Telford & Wrekin’s communities and supports the Council’s visions and priorities.
- Positively engaging in, actively promoting and leading the systemic approach to work being done with children, young people and families.
- To undertake duties expected of social work managers in line with the Professional Capabilities Framework at advanced level.
Family Connect operates a single point of contact for services accessed by the public and professionals to ensure that the right service is delivered at the right time, in the right place by the right people. Family Connect is a multi‑agency partnership approach to safeguarding children and young people that supports early help and safeguarding decisions. The partnership working provides the platform for timely informed decision making and offers triage support for safeguarding children or offering early help and prevention solutions supported by integrated working practices.

- This post is covered by the Code of Practice on the English Language Fluency Duty for public sector workers.
- Completion of an enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check is a requirement for working with children and young people.
- Posts working with children or vulnerable groups will be subject to an appropriate criminal records check.
