Telford & Wrekin Council is looking for a Family Connect Safeguarding Team Manager (Social Worker). The post is full time, permanent, 37 hours per week, at grade PO16 qualified, with a salary of £53,460 to £56,724 per annum.

About Family ConnectFamily Connect is a multi‑agency partnership approach to safeguarding children and young people, providing a single point of contact for services accessed by the public and professionals. It supports early help, provides triage services, and offers timely, informed decision‑making for safeguarding and prevention.
Responsibilities- Lead, manage, supervise, and hold staff accountable for delivering a high‑standard service in a specific service area.
- Promote and lead the systemic approach to work with children, young people, and families.
- Undertake duties expected of social work managers in line with the Professional Capabilities Framework at advanced level.
- Support continuous service improvement and the adoption of strengths‑based approaches.
- Ensure robust supervision policies are followed and provide regular, quality supervision to staff.
- Qualified social worker with relevant experience managing a safeguarding team.
- Ability to work effectively with a multidisciplinary team in a partnership environment.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Completion of an enhanced DBS check and a Disclosure & Barring Service check as a requirement for working with children and young people.
