Personal Adviser

We are working closely alongside with a local authority in Telford and Wrekin to assist with the appointment of a Personal Adviser on a 2.5-months contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration., As a Personal Adviser for Telford and Wrekin Council, you will serve as the lead professional for care-experienced young people.

Your mission is to provide the stability, advice, and guidance necessary for young people to successfully navigate the transition from local authority care to independent adulthood.

• Undertake the statutory role of Personal Adviser for individual care-experienced young people from age 16 up to 21, or 25 if requested.
• Act as the key case manager for Former Relevant young people, and provide advice and assistance to those categorized as Relevant or Qualifying.
• Assist young people in preparing for independent living, providing consistent support, advice, and guidance throughout their journey.
• Ensure that young people are at the center of their planning process and that their support networks are engaged in the transition.
• Help young people navigate and access community resources, education, employment, and housing opportunities.
  Substantial experience working with children or young people, specifically those who are vulnerable, at risk, or have been in a care environment.
• Proven experience in managing a caseload and taking responsibility for achieving positive outcomes for young people.
• Experience collaborating with multiple agencies (e.g., housing, health, DWP) to secure resources for service users.
• A willingness to undergo appropriate training courses as directed by the Council to maintain up-to-date knowledge of legislation and policy regarding leaving care.
