DBS Chef

Blue Arrow are recruiting for an experienced chef to work with our client in the Telford area. Working in the education sector, your main duties will include:

- Cook and prepare high quality dishes to set menu spec - Supervise all kitchen stations - Maintain a safe and hygienic kitchen environments - Assist the Head Chef to create menu items, recipes and develop dishes - Be responsible for health and safety - Be responsible for food hygiene practices.

- Maintain a safe and hygienic kitchen environment at all times - Ensure food quality and excellent standards are maintained for all dishes created - Assist with determining food inventory needs, stocking and ordering - Complete daily and weekly records including temperature checks.

Skills required:

- Good knowledge of all sections - Strong ability to produce good quality food and first-rate culinary skills - A flair, passion and a love of ingredients - Strong organisational skills - An ability to work unsupervised and consistently deliver quality work

- Experience of a variety of kitchen environments and cuisines - Good knowledge of Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) - Knowledge of food production methods - Good maths/numeracy skills - Effective oral communication with all members of the team

Qualifications:

- Minimum food hygiene level 2 or above dated within the last 3 years - Clear enhanced child DBS dated within the last 12 months.
