Job Title:
Field Service Engineer

Salary: DOE
Hours: Monday–Friday (Full Time)
Contract: Permanent
Location: UK‑wide field role with occasional international travel

An established engineering solutions provider is seeking a Field Service Engineer to support installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repair activities across a diverse customer base. This role is ideal for a multi‑skilled engineer who enjoys a varied position involving travel, technical problem‑solving, customer interaction, and hands‑on engineering work.

Key Responsibilities for Field Service Engineer
  • Carry out installation, commissioning, servicing, and repair of electro‑mechanical equipment.
  • Provide reactive and planned maintenance support across a range of customer sites around the UK and occasionally abroad
  • Diagnose faults and perform repairs on electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems.
  • Undertake strip‑down, rebuild, and testing of equipment within the workshop.
  • Deliver customer training on equipment operation and basic maintenance.
  • Maintain accurate service reports, documentation, and job records.
  • Travel across the UK and occasionally abroad as required.
Experience & Skills Required for Field Service Engineer
  • Strong background in electro‑mechanical engineering, ideally within a field service or maintenance role.
  • Confident working on electrical/electronic systems including PLC‑based controls, inverters, sensors, and safety systems.
  • Solid mechanical aptitude with experience in strip‑down, rebuild, alignment, and precision mechanical work.
  • Ability to interpret electrical diagrams, mechanical drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Strong fault‑finding skills across electrical, electronic, and mechanical disciplines.
  • Flexible approach to working hours, travel, and varying job demands.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to deliver excellent customer service.
  • Competent IT skills for reporting, documentation, and communication.
  • A valid UK driving licence and passport.
  • NVQ Level 3 in electronics or mechanical.
