Telford base: UK wide coverage
Salary: to cGBP
55k neg dep exp + GBP4,800 car allowance + generous benefits including o/t and pension
Our Telford based client has been established for almost 20 years and are recognised as leading providers of all aspects of hardware and software design through to robot systems integration and commission on a range of bespoke automation solutions for supply to a diverse range of clients throughout the UK. They are seeking to recruit two experienced Controls Service Engineer professionals to support Siemens PLC controlled Automation solutions both remotely and at customer sites throughout the UK.
Responsibilities- Report to the Service Manager and perform a combination of planned preventative and reactive service and repair activities.
- Provide out-of-hours standby support on a fortnightly around-the-clock support rota.
- Initially provide remote or telephone assistance, escalating repairs to on-site visits where required.
- Possess a full UK driving licence and be flexible to travel as required.
- Maintain excellent organisational and communication skills at all levels and support fellow team members when required.
- Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety legislation and complete detailed service action summaries for future visits.
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills across multiple engineering disciplines, with emphasis on Siemens PLC fault finding, modification and debugging, and solid hardware fault finding and resolution (e.g., damaged cable repair or faulty device replacement from site spares).
- Typically requires at least 3+ years of experience with Siemens TIA Portal.
- Experience in Profinet fault finding is advantageous.
- Experience working in highly automated environments is beneficial.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel UK-wide.
