As a Test & Design Engineer, you will support the Lab Manager by ensuring that product approvals are current and compliant with the latest international standards. This role involves managing third-party products to ensure all data is up to date to place on the market.

You will also manage global suppliers to request additional data necessary for technical files of all products. An understanding of product design and compliance requirements in line with applicable legislation is needed to detect issues during the investigation stage.

Your role will directly impact the business by contributing to increased market share and returns through the cost‑effective and timely development of innovative products that comply with National and International Standards.

ACCOUNTABILITIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Understand and develop test plans according to required standards and legislation.
  • Maintain internal design and test verification methods in line with the latest approval standards.
  • Review third‑party data to support new product introductions.
  • Interpret third‑party test reports to identify covered products and any outstanding data needed.
  • Maintain databases to support products and accompanying data.
  • Develop technical presentations and applied samples as needed for sales support and customer demonstrations.
  • Liaise with suppliers to request required information.
  • Create technical files in accordance with product legislation.
  • Design packaging and BOM’s
  • Create and maintain technical drawings for third part products and in‑house products
  • Sample inspection and testing to verify products in line with expectations
  • Create and maintain of data/energy labels, product codes and packaging related items.
  • Create and maintain instruction manuals
  • Define spares list and maintain.
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / EXPERIENCE Essential
  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering, or related experience.
  • Proven experience (>3 years) in engineering within a manufacturing environment.
  • Able to read engineering drawings and schematic diagrams.
  • Able to plan work to balance conflicting priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Able to work and is experience in working in a fast‑paced environment where variants are high and lead times are short.
  • Travel between sites.
Desirable
  • Up-to-date knowledge of legislative changes.
  • Previous testing experience.
  • Hands‑on experience in an engineering role.
  • Experience in appliance, food service equipment, or mechanical product design.
