Automation Project Manager

Overview

The Automation Project Manager will join Tip Top Job ’s Projects team in Telford, overseeing multiple engineering‑level automation projects from functional design to commissioning. Salary: GBP 75,000, plus benefits.

• Lead multiple automation projects and obtain approval for Functional Design Specifications (FDS) and Controls layout.
• Prepare technical documents, diagrams and language per client requirements.
• Manage project gateway sign‑offs including FDS, electrical design, FAT, installation planning, commissioning and final acceptance testing.
• Oversee resource management: identify, budget, order and deliver materials on schedule.
• Maintain CE/UKCA compliance and documentation.
• Ensure health and safety compliance; update management on risks, opportunities and escalations.
• Collaborate with team members, both onsite and at the Nottingham facility.

• Minimum 5 years of project management experience in logistics automation.
• Proven knowledge in electrical/PLC design and development, preferably in conveyor, robotics or automotive sectors.
• Strong scheduling, prioritisation, budget, task and risk management skills.
• Excellent organisational, communication and team leadership skills.
