Aspire People are currently recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Telford for a confident and adaptable Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to work across mixed year groups on a full-time basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HLTA who is confident covering classes and supporting pupils across the full primary age range.

The Role

As an HLTA, you will:

Provide whole-school cover across EYFS, KS1 and KS2

Deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher

Step into a teaching role when required, ensuring continuity of learning

Support pupils as a Teaching Assistant when not covering lessons

Work flexibly across mixed year groups

Provide targeted interventions and support, including for pupils with SEN

Assist with planning, preparation, and assessment where appropriate

This is a varied role that requires flexibility, confidence, and a proactive approach.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

Holds a recognised HLTA qualification (or equivalent relevant qualification)

Has recent experience working within primary education

Is confident covering whole classes as a teacher when required

Is equally comfortable working as a TA to support learning and behaviour

Has experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN)

Demonstrates strong classroom management skills

Is organised, reliable, and adaptable

Builds positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
