Sports Coach

Are you a Sports Coach looking to work in schools as a Cover Supervisor in Telford? ABC Teachers is currently recruiting Sports Coaches to work as Cover Supervisors, delivering both PE lessons and general classroom cover across secondary schools in Telford.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising pre-planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher. While this role includes a strong focus on Physical Education, you will also cover a range of general subjects across the school curriculum.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in sport, coaching, or education who are looking to gain valuable school-based experience.

• Delivering pre-set PE lessons and supervising practical activities safely
• Managing general classroom cover across KS3 and KS4
• Maintaining positive behaviour and engagement in the classroom
• Ensuring a safe, inclusive, and structured learning environment
• Following school policies and safeguarding procedures

You will be working across a variety of secondary schools (KS3 & KS4) within Telford and the surrounding Shropshire area. These schools range in size and setting, offering a diverse and engaging working experience.

Working across multiple secondary schools allows you to:

• Build strong classroom and behaviour management skills
• Develop confidence covering both PE and general subjects
• Enhance your CV for future education or teacher training roles

• Background in sports coaching, PE, or physical activity
• Experience working with children or young people (schools, coaching, camps, clubs)
• Confident managing groups and classroom behaviour
• Ability to adapt to different subjects and school environments
• An interest in progressing within education or teacher training
• Hold or willing to obtain an enhanced DBS check

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:

• Background in sports coaching, PE, or physical activity
