JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE:

Substitute (Instructional Positions)

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Education Level: High School Diploma or GED. Bachelor's Degree in Education preferred for long term assignments.
  • Experience Desired:
    None. One year in similar position preferred.
  • Physical Requirements:

    Constant hand-eye/mind-eye coordination. Frequent walking, speaking, writing, bending, carrying, pushing, pulling, sitting, and turnings. Some lifting up to 30 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position.
  • Other Requirements:
    Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Computer proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, data entry, email, and internet. Ability to keep student information confidential.

    Building Principal, Assistant Principal, Teacher

    WORKS WITH:
    Building Principal, Assistant Principal, Teacher, Substitute Scheduler

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES MAY INCLUDE:
  • Responsible for the daily management and operations of assigned classroom in the absence of the regular classroom teacher or the assigned responsibilities of the employee being covered.
  • Reviews with principal, or designee, all plans, duties, and schedules to be followed.
  • Teaches the outlined lesson as provided by the classroom teacher or covers the assigned duties and responsibilities of the employee.
  • Maintains as possible the established routines and procedures of the school and classroom.
  • Follows all policies, rules, and procedures to which classroom teacher and other staff are subject and which good practice dictates.
  • Communicates with the teacher following the assignment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
