Overview
Grain & Protein Technologies is a global designer, manufacturer, and marketer of equipment solutions for grain, seed, poultry, egg, and swine production. The Company serves farmers and agribusiness managers in over 100 countries and operates facilities across five continents. The North America team is seeking a Machine Operator on 2nd shift to join the Taylorville, IL facility.
Responsibilities- Set-up, adjust, program, calibrate and perform preventative maintenance on extrusion equipment.
- Produce material to specification from job orders and document production data to minimize production delays.
- Utilize quality checks to ensure correct operational sequencing and adherence to product standards.
- Implement all aspects of Grain & Protein Technologies Lean and Quality Management systems.
- Comply with all safety rules, policies, and procedures.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Previous machine operator experience preferred; plastic extrusion equipment highly preferred.
- Ability to use measuring instruments (calipers, pipe diameter tape, tape measure, go/no-go gauges), bander, Sawzall and other hand tools.
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Ability to read, write and use basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
- Ability to operate overhead crane and sit-down forklift.
- Ability to lift, push, pull up to 50 pounds.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to follow precise instructions.
- Ability to communicate effectively with peers, managers and across departments and shifts.
- Expected total compensation for this role will be $21.80 to $26.97 per hour + $3 shift differential depending on job-related knowledge, experience, and skills.
- Up to 5% gainshare potential.

You will be working onsite in Taylorville, IL. The role involves working near large machinery; the work environment is usually loud. The employee is exposed to a variety of extreme conditions, including temperatures ranging from 40°F to 105°F.
The physical demands include sitting, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, and frequent hand and finger use. The employee must be able to stand for up to twelve hours per day and may lift/move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Personal protective equipment is required (e.g., eye protection, hearing protection, safety shoes, gloves, etc.).
