About the RoleAs a Fire Fighter III, you will receive intermediate-level airfield firefighting/crash rescue training and experience under general supervision. Your responsibilities will include mastering the use and maintenance of specialized firefighting and crash/rescue equipment, delivering fire prevention services, and executing firefighting and crash/rescue procedures and practices.
This position has the possibility of being hired as a Fire Fighter III
RequirementsTo be eligible for this role, you must meet or exceed the following criteria:
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Be United States Citizen.
- Possess a valid Utah Driver's License.
- Qualify to obtain an SLCIAP Aircraft Movement Area Badge.
- Pass NFPA 1582 medical evaluation.
- Qualify for a "Favorable" federal background investigation.
- Complete Firefighter skills attributes.
In addition, the incumbent must:
- Possess DoD Certification or Pro Board/IFSAC equivalent;
Fire Fighter II, HAZMAT Operations. - Possess current State of Utah EMT Certification or NREMT equivalent.
- Possess or be able to obtain Airport Fire Fighter, Telecommunicator I within 1 year of hire.
- Obtain an appropriate U.S. Government Driver License within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities- Performs firefighting, rescue and hazardous materials response services.
- Responds and administers first-aid treatment to anyone in need.
- Actively participate in national, state and local recurring training requirements.
- General Fire Station cleaning and equipment/tool inspection and maintenance.
- Other duties assigned.
- First aid certification required including CPR.
- Risks found in potentially dangerous or unusual environmental stress situations, e.g. working at great heights, working in extreme outdoor weather conditions, being subject to possible physical attack, etc.
- The work requires considerable and strenuous physical exertion such as frequent climbing, lifting heavy objects over 50 pounds, crouching or crawling in restricted areas, defending oneself and/or others against physical attack.
