Job Duties- Prepare site civil engineering design documents, including but not limited to, site layout, grading, drainage, utility, and erosion control plans. Prepare drainage report, engineering cost estimates, and project specifications as needed.
- Lead and execute civil-site design and land development projects individually or through multi-disciplinary teams from planning through construction
- Play a direct role in bringing new projects through the door
- Collaborate with clients, agencies, project managers, surveyors, architectural teams, etc.
- Train and mentor junior engineers as the team grows
- QA/QC engineering design documents
- Serve as project manager or project point of contact as needed
- Support business development effort, develop project scope, schedule, and budget
- May serve as the Engineer of Record on projects, taking legal responsibility for project design, compliance, and overall engineering quality
- Other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
- Professional engineer licensure, with ability to obtain reciprocity as needed for projects
- Demonstrated experience leading design efforts and coordinating with clients
- Demonstrated experience working with local, state, and national standards
- Demonstrated design and modelling experience in site planning, layout, grading, drainage, roadways, utilities, and erosion control
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D is required
- Strong written and verbal communication skills Exceptional interpersonal communication skills
- Detail oriented and self-starter; can work independently and in a team environment
- Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple high-priority assignments in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to learn, provide feedback, and receive feedback
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position for up to 100% of the time
- Consistently operates a computer and other office equipment such as scanner/printer, paper cutter, laminator, etc.
- Constantly communicates with discipline experts, clients, team members, etc. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
- Must be able to perceive digital software, programs, and websites
