Role Summary

The QA/QC Project Lead is the quality leader for assigned industrial electrical construction projects. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and enforcing the Project Quality Management Plan to ensure all work meets contract requirements, codes, specifications, and CEC standards.

Core Accountability
  • Compliance with project specifications, drawings, and contract requirements
  • Inspection, testing, and documentation accuracy
  • Non-conformance identification, tracking, and resolution
  • Quality reporting transparency and discipline
  • Supporting clean project turnover and documentation completion
Execution Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement project-specific Quality Management Plans (QMPs)
  • Establish and maintain Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs)
  • Perform and coordinate inspections across electrical installation, equipment setting, terminations, testing, and commissioning
  • Ensure compliance with NEC, customer specifications, and applicable regulatory codes
  • Coordinate third-party inspections and testing agencies as required
  • Review and approve subcontractor quality plans and procedures
  • Monitor subcontractor performance to ensure compliance with quality standards
  • Identify, document, and manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs)
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective action processes
  • Maintain organized quality documentation, turnover packages, and as-built records
  • Provide daily, weekly, and monthly quality performance reporting
  • Participate in project meetings and provide quality performance updates
  • Support commissioning and final acceptance processes
  • Assist in vendor and material submittal reviews for compliance
  • Escalate recurring quality risks early with facts and corrective plans
Leadership & Standards
  • Exercise authority over quality enforcement in the field
  • Promote a culture where quality and safety are non-negotiable
  • Collaborate closely with Project Management, Field Supervision, and Safety
  • Mentor field personnel on quality expectations and documentation discipline
  • Model STRIVE© values in all interactions
  • Stop work when quality standards are not met
Experience & Qualifications

Candidates must meet one of the following qualification paths:

  • Track A – Degree Path
    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related technical field
    • 5+ years of QA/QC or construction quality experience in electrical or renewable energy projects
  • Track B – Experience Path
    • 7+ years of progressive field or quality leadership experience in electrical construction environments
    • Demonstrated ownership of inspection programs, NCR management, and documentation control
  • Required Experience & Qualifications (Regardless of Track)
    • Experience in self‑perform electrical construction
    • Working knowledge of NEC and electrical construction standards
    • Experience with renewable energy projects (solar, BESS) preferred
    • Inspection and testing coordination experience
    • Strong documentation and turnover package management
    • Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Demonstrated ability to enforce standards professionally and consistently, direct, and professional
    • Demonstrated ability to build and lead teams
Professional Discipline
  • Formal project management training or certification (PMP or equivalent) preferred
  • Candidates without certification must demonstrate consistent use of disciplined project controls, forecasting, and commercial management in prior roles
Measures of Success
  • Formal QA/QC or quality management training preferred
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CQI, CQM, OSHA, or equivalent) preferred
  • Demonstrated structured approach to inspections, reporting, and corrective action tracking
Working Conditions
  • Combination of office and field environments
  • Ability to work extended hours as required by project demands
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and work safely in active construction environments
Employment Conditions
  • Subject to satisfactory background check, drug/alcohol screening, and MVR review
  • Must have a Valid Driver’s License
  • May be required to work nights, weekends, or holidays
  • Must comply with all company safety policies and procedures
