As a Kennel Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the well-being and care of animals in our facility. This position involves working closely with a variety of pets, primarily dogs, and requires a passion for animal care and handling. You will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment for the animals while providing them with the attention and care they need.
Duties- Provide daily care for animals, including feeding
- Maintain cleanliness of kennels and common areas to ensure a hygienic environment.
- Monitor animal behavior and health, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff.
- Assist with animal restraint during examinations or grooming sessions.
- Handle dogs of various sizes and temperaments with confidence and care.
- Engage with pet owners to provide updates on their pets’ well‑being and address any questions or concerns.
- Perform heavy lifting when moving animals or cleaning equipment.
- Ensure all safety protocols are followed to protect both staff and animals.
- Proficient in animal handling techniques, including dog handling and restraint.
- Experience as a veterinary technician is advantageous but not required.
- Strong background in animal care, demonstrating compassion and responsibility.
- Excellent customer service skills to effectively communicate with pet owners.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks associated with kennel maintenance.
- A genuine love for animals and commitment to their welfare is essential.
