Position: Advanced Practice Provider (O-5 Billet) Supervisory

Overview

The Supervisory Advanced Practice Provider oversees Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners at the DHS IHSC facility, training, and scheduling. Provides direct detainee care, performs evaluations, and prescribes medications. Requires licensure, certification, and 6+ years clinical experience. The Supervisory APP reports directly to the facility Clinical Director.

Eligibility

This position is only open to current USPHS officers. CAD candidates are not eligible for this position.

Must have the ability to assist sick, injured or aging detainees or staff exiting the building (may require lifting, dragging, wheeling or carrying someone who weighs significantly more than self).

The work may necessitate some physical characteristics that will be required when responding to an emergency situation, such as running a short distance, prolonged standing and working in an austere environment.
