Samsung Austin Semiconductor is seeking an equipment engineer who will work alongside a talented team of professionals, focusing on establishing and maintaining world‑class process/equipment, implementing yield enhancement as a competitive advantage, and identifying complex problems to implement effective solutions.

• Monitors wafer fabrication equipment and responds to issues
• Qualifies new manufacturing equipment
• Coordinates scheduling of equipment qualifications and downtime with manufacturing
• Uses software to analyze data, identify trends, and make decisions about processing products
• Adjusts equipment parameters when exceeded and monitors parameters when tools return from maintenance
• Executes in‑line changes (CPM) to the process or equipment
• Communicates technical information within the department through presentations
• Completes other duties as assigned
• Continuously revises Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Develops improved processes to increase capability
• Monitors operation costs and develops cost reduction projects

• BS or MS in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science, or Computer Science (new grads need 3.0 GPA or better)
• Experience scripting in Python, VBA, or a comparable language
• Understanding of statistical methods
• Change point management experience and knowledge of Lean, TPS, or 5S principles
• Structured problem‑solving (8D, 7‑step, etc.)
• Experience with data‑analysis software (Spotfire, JMP, MATLAB, etc.)
• Troubleshooting equipment or process failures
• Ability to wear a clean‑room suit and PPE, lift less than 35 lbs, work in a tight‑fitting fab environment, and sit at a computer for extended periods
• Ability to discern audible alarms
• May be exposed to yellow lights, blinking lights, and materials that contain hazardous chemicals
• Ability to support and/or work shift duties in a 24×7 manufacturing environment

The current base salary range for this role is between $70,480 – $179,090. Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications and experience. Total compensation for this position will include a competitive benefits package and may include participation in company incentive compensation programs, which are based on factors to include organizational and individual performance.

At Samsung SAS, base pay is just one part of our total compensation package. The base compensation for this role will depend on education, experience, skills, and location.
