The fab engineering group at Samsung Austin Semiconductor is looking to hire a process engineer. In this role you will work alongside a talented team of professionals focused on establishing and maintaining world‑class process and equipment, implementing yield enhancement as a competitive advantage, and identifying complex problems to implement solutions.

• Monitor the wafer fabrication process by responding to in‑line issues and dispositions of production wafers
• Qualify wafer fabrication processes on new tools
• Coordinate scheduling of process qualifications and equipment downtime with manufacturing or equipment engineering
• Use software to analyze data, identify trends, and make decisions about processing products
• Make adjustments when process parameters are exceeded and monitor process parameters when tools return from maintenance
• Execute in‑line changes (CPM) to the process or equipment
• Communicate technical information within the department through presentations
• Continuously revise Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Develop improved processes to increase capability

• 2+ years of prior work experience
• BS or MS in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Material Science, or Computer Science
• Experience scripting in Python, VBA, or equivalent language
• Understanding of statistical methods
• Experience with Change Point Management and Lean, TPS, or 5S principles
• Experience with Structured Problem Solving (8D, 7‑step, etc.)
• Experience with software data‑analysis tools (Spotfire, JMP, Matlab, etc.)
• Ability to troubleshoot equipment or process failure
• Ability to wear clean‑room suit and PPE per the SAS FAB protocol, and ability to lift
