Part-time PT Emergency Registered Veterinary Technician
Pet Vet Care Centers' Taylor Veterinary Emergency is currently seeking a Part‑time Emergency Registered Veterinary Technician to join our team. Position Overview: The Veterinary Technician supports hospital operations by providing dedicated quality veterinary care and exceptional service to our patients and clients. Responsibilities include providing patient care by determining animal requirements, conducting examinations and diagnostic procedures, assisting during surgery and operations, providing nursing care, assisting with feeding and caring for patients, maintaining medical supplies and equipment, overseeing triage and discharging patients, and maintaining patient medical records.
Key Responsibilities- Determine animal requirements by conducting examinations, interviews, reviewing care plans, completing laboratory tests, and diagnosing imaging.
- Care for patients by taking vital signs, collecting samples, administering medications and vaccines, and bandaging wounds.
- Support patient examinations and operations by assembling supplies, securing and transporting patients, and restraining animals as directed by the veterinarian.
- Apply full knowledge of anatomy, physiology, disease processes, pharmacology, and specialized equipment for patient care.
- Obtain and verify medications.
- Ensure patients have food and water, maintain clean rooms, cages, and equipment, and observe clinical signs.
- Administer medications and fill prescriptions with proper documentation, logging, and controlled‑drug security.
- Maintain a safe, secure, healthy, and humane environment by sterilizing instruments, disinfecting areas, storing supplies, verifying shelf life, and following legal regulations.
- Document patient conditions, reactions, and changes, updating the database accurately and promptly.
- Communicate patient status to owners as directed by the veterinarian.
- Maintain equipment, troubleshoot breakdowns, perform preventive maintenance, and arrange repairs.
- Manage inventory, place orders, and handle receipts.
- Participate in educational opportunities and read professional journals to update job knowledge.
- Release pets to owners, ensuring they are clean and properly groomed.
- Follow oral and written directions and perform other duties assigned by management.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Two or more years of experience with veterinary emergencies, surgeries, and nursing care for hospitalized and critical patients.
- Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) as required by state.
- Equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience may be considered.

Pay Range: $25.20 — $30.80 USD
