SEN Learning Support Assistant

Tavistock, Devon — Full-time — £14.15 per hour

A highly regarded school in Tavistock is looking to welcome a SEN Learning Support Assistant to join their dedicated and inclusive team. This is a rewarding full-time opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and helping them thrive both academically and emotionally.

In this role, you'll play a key part in creating a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment where every child feels supported and valued.

• Supporting the delivery of personalised learning plans tailored to individual needs
• Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEN
• Assisting with lesson preparation and adapting resources to support learning
• Monitoring and recording pupil progress, sharing updates with teaching staff
• Encouraging pupils' emotional, social, and academic development
• Helping maintain a positive, calm, and inclusive classroom environment
• Supporting pupils to build confidence, independence, and positive peer relationships

• A Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in education, childcare, or a related field (desirable)
• Experience supporting children or young people with Special Educational Needs
• A strong understanding of inclusive education and SEN support strategies
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A calm, adaptable, and nurturing approach
• Good organisational skills and confidence using educational technology
• A commitment to ongoing professional development
