As an Audit Senior at Moore Scarrott Group, you will play a key role in overseeing audit engagements for a diverse range of clients supervised by an Audit Manager. You will be responsible for planning, conducting, and completing audit assignments alongside an Audit Manager and a team of juniors. Ensuring compliance with regulatory standards while delivering exceptional client service is your primary responsibility.

This role is suited to someone in the final stages of their ACA or ACCA qualification. With a keen eye for detail, strong technical expertise, and the ability to build trusted client relationships, this position offers an excellent opportunity to accelerate your professional development.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading audit engagements from planning to completion, ensuring compliance with ISAs and regulatory standards.
  • Preparing and reviewing audit plans, focusing on risk assessment and effective audit strategies.
  • Conducting fieldwork, including data analysis, understanding internal controls, and identifying audit risks.
  • Managing client communications and expectations throughout the audit process.
  • Presenting findings and recommendations clearly to clients, explaining audit observations and implications.
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships for long-term partnerships.
  • Reviewing financial statements to ensure compliance with UK GAAP, IFRS, and other standards.
  • Documenting findings and preparing detailed reports for clients and management.
  • Highlighting opportunities for financial and operational improvements.
  • Supervising and supporting junior staff to ensure quality work and professional growth.
  • Conducting reviews of junior team members’ work and providing constructive feedback.
  • Participating in internal quality control reviews to foster continuous improvement.
  • About you

    You possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities. You are well-organized, capable of effective delegation, and a team player with leadership potential.

    You are in the final stages of your ACCA or ACA qualification, with 2-4 years of UK audit experience. You have a solid understanding of UK GAAP, IFRS, and other relevant accounting standards.

    Experience managing client engagements and leading audit teams on-site is essential. Charity audits experience is desirable but not mandatory.
