ENT Specialists is looking to hire a reliable, friendly front desk medical receptionist for our Taunton location. The front desk check-in and check-out receptionist is responsible for providing excellent customer service and administrative support to our patients, including Mondays. You will serve as the first point of contact for individuals entering the office and are responsible for managing the check-in and check-out process efficiently.
Dutiesand Responsibilities
- Greet and welcome patients like they are VIPs (because they are).
- Check patients in for appointments, verify their demographic information, and update any changes in their records.
- Collect necessary documents and forms from patients, such as insurance information and consent forms.
- Scan, fax, check messages.
- Schedule appointments like a pro.
- Answer incoming phone calls, respond to inquiries, and direct calls to the appropriate department.
- Process patient payments.
- Coordinate with medical staff to ensure a smooth flow of patients and communicate any delays.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines at all times.
- Take on additional tasks as needed to meet the evolving needs of the office.
- Engage with the team in a positive, professional manner.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in health care is a plus.
- Previous experience in a similar role in a medical or healthcare setting.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients and staff in a calm, friendly presence.
- Proficient in using computer systems, electronic medical records (EMR) such as eClinical, software, and basic office equipment.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures.
- Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks.
- Ability to handle difficult or sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism.
- Familiarity with insurance processes.
- Demonstrated focus and ability to stay productive during the day with patients first.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Customer service:
Strong customer service skills and a friendly demeanor to create a positive experience for patients. - Communication:
Effective verbal and written communication with patients and staff. - Organizational:
Ability to manage appointments, paperwork, and multiple tasks simultaneously. - Attention to detail:
Accurate data entry, scheduling, and handling financial transactions. - Technology:
Proficiency with computers, EMR software, and basic office equipment. - Confidentiality:
Maintaining patient privacy and adherence to HIPAA regulations. - Problem-solving:
Ability to handle unexpected situations and resolve inquiries or issues. - Teamwork:
Collaboration with medical staff and colleagues for smooth workflow and patient satisfaction.
