Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced Fabricator / Welder to join our client’s fabrication team based in Taunton. This is a permanent, full-time position offering long-term stability, overtime opportunities, and the chance to work in a modern, well-equipped workshop on a wide range of bespoke architectural and structural steel projects.
The Role
Reporting to the Production Manager, you will be working as part of a skilled fabrication team, producing high-quality architectural, secondary, and structural steelwork. Raw materials are CNC pre-processed to ensure accuracy and consistency, supporting efficient and high-quality fabrication.
Typical Projects Include:
* Feature stairs, access stairs, gantries & walkways
* Balustrades and handrails
* Balconies
* Structural steelwork
* Bespoke architectural metalwork
Key Responsibilities:
* Fabrication and welding of bespoke steelwork
* Reading and working from fabrication drawings
* Working effectively as part of a team
* Maintaining high standards of quality and attention to detail
* Meeting production targets and deadlines
The Ideal Candidate :
* Minimum 5 years’ experience in fabrication/welding
* Background in fabrication or manufacturing
* Apprenticeship or BTEC Level 3 in Welding/Fabrication (preferred)
* Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings
* Experience with tube bending machines and robotic welding systems, or a strong willingness to learn
* Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated
* Positive attitude with excellent attention to detail
* Able to work independently and as part of a team
* Flexible approach with good planning and organisational skills
Working Hours:
* Monday – Thursday: 8:00am – 4:30pm
* Friday: 8:00am – 4:00pm
* Overtime available
