A well-established and growing law firm in the South West is seeking a dedicated Legal Cashier to join their busy finance department in Taunton. Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Legal Cashier to take on a vital role in a thriving finance team. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining financial accuracy and ensuring compliance with SRA Accounts Rules. This is a hands-on position suited to someone proactive and detail-oriented, with previous experience in legal finance.

Responsibilities of the Legal Cashier include:

• Handle daily client and office account transactions, including reconciliations and payment processing
• Ensure compliance with SRA Accounts Rules and manage accurate financial records
• Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports, including VAT returns
• Liaise confidently with fee earners, auditors, suppliers, and regulatory bodies

Requirements of the Legal Cashier include:

• Previous experience as a Legal Cashier within a legal practice is essential
• Strong knowledge of SRA Accounts Rules and legal accounting software
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail in financial data management
• Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills with a professional approach to confidentiality
