The Opportunity

At Stantec, we have built our reputation over decades of success. We are now looking forward to a very exciting period ahead as we grow our multidisciplinary teams. Stantec’s four key values are:

  • We are driven to achieve;
  • We put people first;
  • We do what is right; and
  • We are better together.

These values describe perfectly how we work together; supporting each other and guiding clients to achieve project requirements. We do what is right by designing with communities in mind, whilst seeking the best environmental and social outcomes.

As such, we are currently seeking an experienced EIA Coordinator from a Senior level through to Senior Associate to join our team permanently. With offices across the UK, we can offer a mix of home and office work to maintain a good work‑life balance and effective teamwork. We encourage applicants from any UK location to apply.

Our broad‑based growth means we support projects across multiple sectors, including major energy and infrastructure schemes. We are working on exciting and innovative energy projects such as carbon capture and storage, renewable energy of all types and scales, hydrogen, and transmission & distribution.

We are supporting some of the country’s most significant projects, and we seek a candidate whose ambition matches our own.

Responsibilities
  • Support the planning and delivery of energy and infrastructure projects, advising clients throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Manage EIA screening and scoping processes, and prepare Environmental Statements, including reviewing technical input.
  • Lead environmental teams, overseeing Environmental Impact Assessments and the preparation of environmental and planning‑related reports.
  • Develop client relationships with senior members of our leadership team.
  • Support the development of junior team members.
  • Contribute to single and multi‑disciplinary proposal bids and manage financial aspects of project work.
Qualifications
  • Strong environmental planning (EIA) experience, preferably with interest in the energy sector.
  • Either chartered or working towards chartership.
  • Broad understanding of environmental issues and disciplines, with working knowledge of consenting regimes and development management procedures (Town and Country Planning & Planning Act, Hybrid Bill, etc.).
  • Experience leading multi‑disciplinary teams and a track record of financial project management.
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels.
  • Capability to manage and mentor others, demonstrating competency and flexibility to meet role demands.
Why Join Us?
  • People culture: friendly and collaborative environment.
  • Awards: 2023 NCE Consultancy of the Year and top 10 Corporate Knights most sustainable companies in the world.
  • Great benefits: competitive salary, pension plan, holidays, free private medical insurance, discounted gym membership and more.
  • Flexible working arrangements.
  • Great projects across all sectors in the UK & Ireland.
  • Industry‑leading training, development and paid professional subscriptions.
