AboutThe Role
Our cleaner’s ensure the nursery premises is clean and tidy including the laundry room. They also ensure stock is checked and re‑ordering is done in sufficient time to have sufficient for the job. You are able to operate all equipment necessary for the job – e.g. vacuum cleaners, dish washers, washing machines, tumble driers, steam cleaners.
About The NurseryTops Mini Mariners Nursery is a 36 place Day Nursery & Pre‑School situated in Mini Mariners, Taunton. The nursery runs several extra-curricular activities including Cooking school, Boogie Mites, Yoga, Tooth brushing, Football fun and much more!

- Disinfecting surfaces, toys, and furniture to maintain a hygienic environment.
- Emptying bins and disposing of waste appropriately.
- Maintaining the cleanliness of communal areas, including kitchens and staff rooms.
- Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting all areas.
- Able to use the correct cleaning equipment, materials and chemicals safely and appropriately.
- To report any problems, faults, damage appropriately.
- Previous experience in a cleaning role (experience in a childcare or educational setting is a plus).
- A good understanding of hygiene and safety standards, particularly in environments where children are present.
- Aware of the sustainable ethos of the company, including being actively involved with energy conservation and recycling.
- Attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently and independently.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to follow cleaning schedules and complete tasks in a timely manner.
Because this role involves regulated activity with children, all candidates must:
- Hold (or be willing to obtain) an enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service. If you don’t yet have one, you’ll need to cover the cost.
- Be eligible to work in regulated roles – not on the Children’s Barred List.
- Successfully complete background and reference checks.
