Practice Assistant Accountant

Overview

A growing accountancy practice has a requirement for a Practice Assistant Accountant to join their team based in the firm's Taunton offices, providing services across year end accounts preparation, preparing personal tax, corporate tax and VAT returns, bookkeeping and other services to wide ranging industry clients across varied sectors and turnovers.

• Prepare year end accounts, tax (personal and corporate) and VAT returns for a mixed client base of sole traders, partnerships and limited companies up to into the £millions in turnover.
• Bookkeeping and delivery of a wider range of general practice services; assist on planning and advisory projects as you progress, with scope to develop your technical skills.
• Gain exposure to cloud accounting advice and increase client exposure by working with managers and partners.
• Work in a growing firm environment with support to qualify through AAT/ACA/ACCA/ATT/CTA and ongoing technical development.

• Recent career background within the accountancy practice sector, with experience in preparing year end accounts, personal and corporate tax compliance, VAT, bookkeeping and related practice services for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
• Experience as an Accounts Assistant/Technician or Senior Accountant; formal qualifications such as AAT or part ACCA, finalist, or equivalent experience is acceptable.
• Study Support offered for those pursuing professional qualifications.
