What You’ll DoYou’ll own and execute the sales and marketing strategy to meet occupancy goals and total revenue potential, attracting qualified prospects and converting them into residents. Day to day responsibilities include:
- Develop and maintain referral pipelines through presentations, targeted mailings, and weekly referrer meetings.
- Conduct tours and close sales using a consistently customer-oriented approach.
- Deliver presentations and outreach touchpoints and provide weekly referral results.
- Coordinate surveys and activities to support tours and move-ins.
- Create and execute the marketing plan and partner cross-functionally to improve campaigns and conversion.
- Operate in a metrics-driven environment with weekly/monthly activity goals and outcomes; test, learn, and scale what works.
(senior living experience a plus)
- A creative, energetic, enthusiastic approach and a genuinely cheerful demeanor.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to turn insights into action.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and marketing-related tools/software.
- A history of building professional referral sources and nurturing relationships.
- Willingness to travel ~30% within the local market to meet referral partners and attend events.

About This RoleThe Marketing Director/Director of Community Relations is responsible for direct sales, meeting pre-lease goals, maximizing occupancy and total revenue potential by attracting qualified prospects and converting them into residents. Responsibilities include management of the department and execution of the marketing plan.
Essential Functions- Responsible for Community outreach and education activities to create referrals.
- Specific goals include: two internal group presentations per month; two external group presentations per month; two targeted group mailings per month; ten meetings with potential new referrers per week; one fax broadcast per month to key referral sources; fifteen telephone calls per day; five referrals received per week.
- Coordinate outreach meetings for key staff including General Manager, Residency Counselor, and Relocation Specialist.
- Provide direct sales backup for Community Residency Counselor as needed (answer inquiries, schedule visits, conduct tours, close sales).
- Maintain customer-oriented selling approach and provide weekend coverage as needed.
- Develop effective sales and marketing plans with input from analysis of the competitive environment; update competitor evaluations and price surveys semi-annually.
- Adhere to emergency procedures and safety practices.
- Exhibits excellent customer service and public relations skills.
- Creative, energetic, enthusiastic, patient, flexible, encouraging, and team-oriented.
- Promotes the community positively and communicates values to residents, families, visitors, and associates.
- Five years of sales/marketing experience with a proven track record; proficient in Microsoft Office and marketing-related software; experience working with seniors; strong referral source development.
- Spends time traveling in-market to referral sources as needed.
May require travel and ability to visit referral sources; some roles may involve exposure to healthcare environments. Spends time on travel to referral sources in the market area.
Miscellaneous- May spend up to 30% of time traveling to referral sources in the market area.
- May require weekend and holiday work as assigned.
- May work on shifts other than the initial hire shift.
- Background, criminal, and drug tests may be required; random drug tests may occur.
