Chemist

** DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
** Exercise procedural, safety and quality requirements specified in Laboratory manuals, Core Laboratories Safety and Environmental Manual, and with any other company policies, procedures, or sound laboratory practices. Other duties as assigned.
** QUALIFICATIONS
* * University degree in Chemistry or a related field.
2 years' experience as Lab Technician or equivalent.

Ability to use Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Access).
** KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES
** Basic understanding of procedures and concepts within the Chemistry discipline and a basic knowledge of principle elements in other related scientific disciplines. And able to bring the acquired technical knowledge into practice. Basic computer skills in data entry, word processing and spreadsheet.

Ability to perform and maintain all procedural, laboratory, equipment, charting, materials and all other applicable chemistry related documentation and records in full compliance with Company’s quality assurance programs.

Ability to read, analyze and interpret instructional and technical materials relating to procedures and safety, and applicable government regulations.  Ability to write applicable reports and correspondence clearly.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, schedulers, and clients. Ability to compute rate, ratio, percent, and quantities (linear, volumetric, or weight) and to read and interpolate applicable data and tables.  

Ability to draw and interpret applicable graphs and control charts.  Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule formats.

Ability to learn applicable software and Company-specific applications. Ability to secure and maintain applicable regulatory and statutory permits, licences and / or credentials as required.

Requires the ability to work a non-traditional work hours/days schedule, including overtime.

Ability to meet requirements to obtain and maintain a TWIC card.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee is frequently exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
