The primary task of the Ready Mix Driver is to ensure Health & Safety standards are met by complying with legislation, company policies and promoting a safe work environment; driving to and from the plant and work sites. The driver must hose down the rig to keep it clean and may walk on uneven and slippery surfaces at the work sites and the plant.
Responsibilities- Drive concrete mixer to work sites and discharge the load in a variety of settings and conditions, including uneven ground.
- Unload and attach extension chutes weighing thirty to fifty pounds to end of the primary chute as needed.
- Regularly lift 25–50 pounds and perform routine equipment maintenance (oil, grease, service, and adjustments).
- Perform other related duties, such as lifting and moving transported materials.
- Be familiar with delivering to operating paver, roller, broom tractor, concrete curb/gutter machine for loading/unloading.
- Comply with safety policies and procedures at all times and work in diverse weather conditions; overtime is required.
- Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively.
- Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License with the current medical card (or ability to obtain one).
- Minimal moving violations.
- Able to lift or move 50 pounds.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to establish and maintain respectful relationships with staff.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, tickets, operating instructions, and manuals.
- Preference: forklift certified.
