Full Time CDL Bus Operator – ABM Industries
Join ABM Industries as a Full Time CDL Bus Operator. This role involves operating a shuttle bus to transport passengers to and from designated locations such as airports, commercial buildings, hospitals, sports arenas, entertainment venues, educational facilities, or warehouses.
Job SummaryThe Shuttle Driver will transport, load, and unload passengers, providing daily transportation services at designated pick-up and drop-off locations. The driver will ensure safe operations, maintain vehicle condition, and deliver excellent customer service.
Basic Qualifications- Must be 21 years of age or older
- No experience required; on the job training provided
- No high school diploma, GED, or college degree required
- The role may require a CDL with a specific class and endorsement requirement
- One (1) year of prior work experience as a passenger shuttle driver is preferred
- Transport, load, and unload passengers, providing daily transportation services at designated pick-up and drop-off locations
- Ensure the safe loading and unloading of passengers, including the safe operation and handling of specialized equipment for loading passengers with special needs (e.g., wheelchair lifts and tie‑downs)
- Help passengers load and unload luggage as needed
- Inspect vehicles on a regular basis to identify any unsafe conditions or maintenance issues; perform routine cleaning and bus maintenance activities
- Meet patrons needing assistance to and from various airport locations and lots
- Inspect shuttle for pre‑existing damage record information using an electronic device or manual ticket
- Provide excellent customer service to guests; respond to guest inquiries in a courteous manner, give directions to nearest highway or destination
- Maintain and enforce the bus evacuation plan and coordinate evacuation activities as appropriate
- Immediately report any incidents or claims to Operations Manager or Shift Lead
- Refuel and maintain shuttle equipment and fuel use logs
- Maintain a clean work environment, disinfect shuttle after each use
- Perform pre‑inspection and post‑inspection activities to ensure proper operating conditions, adherence to Department of Transportation standards, and compliance with safety standards
