The Department

Developer Engineering is a function of the CTO organization. Our mission is to make it easy and enjoyable for software engineering teams to go from a business idea to delivering an innovative product solution. The main goals are to improve and upgrade our tools, streamline our processes, automate, and strengthen our controls, and help development teams adopt modern working methods.

Within the Developer Engineering department, the Developer Services group is a dedicated expert team focused on driving the everything-as-code agenda and delivering tangible reductions in process friction, errors, and manual effort to comply with and administer our policies, standards and the controls that derive from them. The group has the mandate and a unique opportunity as part of a greenfield program to impact critical technical consensus across the company and change how the organization is applying controls and writing policies globally.

The Developer Services is a cross‑functional team of engineers, data scientists, business analysts, and product managers that will directly engineer new codified controls and the underlying capabilities required to support them and drive other groups to provide the automated controls.

Software Engineers are critical to building the products and services we need to deliver on our Developer Services vision. Joining us as a Senior Software Engineer you will have the opportunity to build a high‑profile product, work closely with a talented group of peers, and have the room to build and improve your own skillset. You will also work delivering Generative AI technologies such as GPT‑4 or Gemini, embedding their capabilities through prompt engineering in our systems.

• Design, develop, and test software applications.
• Write high‑quality code that is well‑documented and easy to maintain.
• Stay up to date on the latest software development trends and technologies.
• Troubleshoot and debug software problems.
• Ensure our software platforms are compliant with Citi’s security and SDLC processes.
• Work with a wide variety of business and tech teams to drive an everything‑as‑code and codified controls mindset.
• Support and drive cultural change, instigating critical thinking about controls and processes and encouraging continuous improvement.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

• Proven experience as a Full Stack Software Engineer in product teams.
• Strong experience delivering JavaScript/React and Python/Golang code to production.
• Experience working in an agile software development environment.
• Proven experience with distributed systems, event‑driven architectures, container‑based micro‑services, distributed logs, traditional SQL and No
  
  SQL databases, and Dev Sec Ops .
• Generative AI hands‑on experience with Developer Assistants.

Able to identify and solve problems effectively.
