Overview
We are seeking a Security Systems Estimator with experience designing and estimating low-voltage security systems to support projects in Tampa, FL. This role focuses on developing accurate system estimates and technical designs for integrated security solutions including access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, and emergency communication systems. This position has a strong focus on DoD ESS contract work, including evaluating RFPs and contracts to determine installation bids for security cameras and access control systems.
The ideal candidate can read a contract or RFP and clearly advise on how much to bid and why, ensuring both technical accuracy and financial competitiveness.
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Experience estimating and designing low-voltage security systems
- Strong knowledge of Access Control, Intrusion Detection, and CCTV/Video Surveillance systems
- Experience integrating access control and video surveillance platforms
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to obtain JLA badge
- Ability to obtain secret security clearance
- Experience with Axis, Exacq, Avigilon, or Pelco cameras/NVRs
- Experience with Software House or Door King access control systems
- Familiarity with Honeywell Vista intrusion systems
- Experience with Aiphone intercom systems
- Knowledge of CAT6, PoE, and PoE+ CCTV infrastructure
- Experience with Tek Tone or Cornell nurse call systems
- Knowledge of U.S. Government PIV access control requirements
- Experience designing patient wandering systems for memory care facilities
- Estimate and design low-voltage security systems including Access Control, Intrusion Detection, Video Surveillance, Intercom/Paging, and Emergency Call Systems
- Develop system layouts, scopes of work, and project estimates
- Evaluate project specifications and ensure system designs meet technical requirements
- Integrate access control platforms with CCTV systems for complete security solutions
- Collaborate with engineering teams, project managers, and clients during the design and proposal phases
- Maintain awareness of industry technologies, system platforms, and government regulations
- Occasional travel may be required
