Sr Mobile Trailer Mechanic

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM) and DOT inspections on trailers and equipment in a mobile/field environment.
• Diagnose, adjust, and perform repairs on trailer systems such as aluminum and chem‑lite, brakes, air lines, liftgates, brake chambers, and auxiliary pumps and engines.
• Use hand tools, precision instruments, welding equipment, and jacks for repair and fabrication work.
• Document work performed, parts used, and findings in Repair Orders using company iOS devices and the TRAIT application.
• Maintain and operate company‑issued service vehicle, conduct safety checks, and perform pre‑ and post‑trip inspections.
• Assist Mobile Trailer Technicians I & II with diagnostics, inventory reconciliation, and technical advisories.

• High School Diploma/GED and 5 years of related experience (alternatives: any level degree/certification plus 3 years, or 7 years).
• Possess required hand tools for the job.
• OEM training and certifications are preferred.
• Complete all required company training and meet FMCSA DOT regulations (background screening and DOT physical).
• Valid DOT medical card or DOT physical; 21 years or older; valid state driver’s license and Driver Qualification File.

• ASE T8 (PMI) certification
• ASE 608/609 certification*
• CDL‑A License

• ASE T4 (Brakes) certification
• ASE T5 (Suspension) certification
• ASE T6 (Electrical and Electronic Systems) certification
• ASE T7 (HVAC) certification

• Knowledge of trailer parts and systems, designs, use, repair, and maintenance.
• Strong communication and two‑way collaboration with clients and customers.
• Physical ability to lift, bend, climb, stand, and walk for long periods; perform moderately heavy labor.
• Logical reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions.

Hourly base pay $29.38 – $44.09/hour. Position may be eligible for commission and incentive programs.
