Primoris Distribution Services (PDS) is looking to add Laborers, Foremen, Fusers, and Operators to our crews. We are a leading construction contractor in the gas, oil, electric, and telecommunications industries, specializing in gas line installation (plastic and steel).
We currently have immediate openings for Horizontal Directional Drill (HDD) Operators in Tampa, Orlando, St. Petersburg, and Ocala, Florida.
Primary ResponsibilitiesThe HDD Operator’s main responsibility is to operate heavy equipment safely and effectively for natural gas pipeline installation. Additional duties may be assigned to support the crew.
Primary Requirements- Previous Horizontal Directional Drill experience is required.
- Backhoe and/or Mini Excavator experience is a plus.
- Experience in construction or utility distribution (gas or electric) preferred.
- At least 3 years of experience operating excavation equipment in the utility industry.
- Ability to read standards and schematics, requiring technical thinking.
- Must be able to lift/move 50 pounds.
- Continuous standing, walking on uneven surfaces, turning, stooping, kneeling, crouching, speaking, and hearing.
- Outside weather conditions, including wet, humid, cold, and hot environments.
- Loud noise levels common.
- Exposure to traffic is frequent.
