ARMED SECURITY OFFICER - D & G LICENSE

Monday through Sunday;
Shift Times: Between 07:00 and 19:00
Starting Compensation: $18 - 21 per hour
- Includes 27 hours of paid training between minimum wage and $18/hour.
- Final interview process is a 4-hour unpaid pre‑hire orientation.

MARTINEZ AND COMPANY actively recruiting Florida Class “D” and Armed “G” license security officers to join our workforce. We look for reliable, team‑oriented professionals capable of working with local and federal law enforcement while operating under Homeland Security protocols, primarily in access control and security operations in Hillsborough County with potential assignments across the Tampa Bay Area.
Responsibilities- Provide customer service while carrying out safety and security procedures and site‑specific policies; respond to incidents and emergencies calmly.
- Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter.
- Possession of approved Florida Class “D” & “G” license from DOACS.
- Completion of an approved 40‑hour Unarmed and 28‑hour Armed Security Officer Course.
- Proof of a high school diploma, college degree, or valid state GED.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving history.
- Minimum work experience: any current or previous US military/law‑enforcement related. Prior military or law‑enforcement experience preferred; provide documentation for preference.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including days, overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays.
- Reliable personal transportation and ability to commute to various job sites.
- 24/7 access to a smartphone (Android, iPhone, or Windows) and a computer with internet access.
- Intermediate computer skills: emailing, web browsing, MS Word, Adobe PDF.
- Work independently with minimal supervision; self‑motivated, resourceful, and able to prioritize tasks based on training and experience.
- Strong English communication skills: reading, writing, interpreting complex instructions, procedures, SOPs, post orders, statutes, laws, and regulations.
- Work safely in various environments, including commercial and industrial locations.
- Obtain personal uniform items as necessary.
- Pass a drug test and background investigation.
- Maintain a neat, professional appearance and wear the complete, clean assigned uniform, covering any exposed tattoos per SOP; adhere to grooming standards (hair, nails, beards, etc.).
- Good physical condition, capable of walking up and down stairs in limited spaces, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Possession or willingness to apply for the Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).
- Working knowledge of security and law‑enforcement guidelines, including investigative techniques.
- Familiarity with laws, regulations, and ordinances governing Hillsborough County.
- CPR and first‑aid certifications or ability to obtain them.
- Prior military or law‑enforcement experience preferred; provide documentation for preference.
