The Security Officer Lead is a highly skilled Security Officer that leads, mentors, and oversees the Security team. The Security Officer Lead will work directly with the Security Supervisor to support team operations and other duties as directed. In addition, the Security Officer Lead will serve as a mentor to new officers assigned to their shift during the on-boarding training process and recommend corrective actions as needed.
The Security Officer Lead will continue to perform all duties related to the Security Officer III position.
Responsibilities:
- Proficiency with all current Security software programs including camera, card access/visitor management, report writing and alarm monitoring systems.
- Interpersonal skills to effectively communicate squad goals, counsel/mentor, and work with team members.
- Computer proficiency with the ability to learn new programs.
- Ability to review written reports for accuracy and completeness and make recommendations for corrections needed.
- Good judgment in order to quickly identify the best course of action for dealing with complex or dangerous situations as they arise.
- Interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
Credentials and
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED
- Minimum of five (5) years security experience in a hospital setting. Law enforcement, military service, or military police experience may be substituted on a one-for-one basis. One (1) year of lead or supervisory experience OR one (1) year of internal experience as a Security Officer III with Moffitt.
- Valid Florida Driver’s License required upon hire.
- IAHSS Basic Certification (within 90 days of hire).
Preferred Experience
- One (1) year experience as Security Officer III with this organization.
