The Account Manager maintains and expands relationships with assigned account base customers, with the aim to maximize sales and profit for every account and to expand CR market penetration within the assigned area. The Account Manager represents the entire range of company products and services to assigned customers, while leading the customer account planning cycle and ensuring assigned customers’ needs and expectations are met by the company.
This position will build and sustain productive relationships with current customers and prospects to grow sales and to expand CR penetration within Designers, Architects and Builders’ segments.
- Establish productive, professional relationships with key personnel in assigned customer accounts.
- Coordinate the involvement of company personnel, including support, service, and management resources, to meet account performance objectives and customers’ expectations.
- Meet assigned targets for profitable sales volume and strategic objectives in assigned accounts.
- Proactively lead a joint company account planning process that develops mutual performance objectives, financial targets, and milestones for one and three-year periods.
- Proactively assess, clarify, and validate customer needs on an ongoing basis.
- Develop a sales action plan to service accounts with high growth potential, gather strategic “intel,” and develop leads from existing account base to better infiltrate designers, architects, and builders as potential customers.
- Participate actively with local professional organizations linked with CR's tactics and strategies.
- Create and execute plans to introduce and implement CR products in showrooms and key accounts to create demand within the market; expand Pompeii brand penetration by assigning more displays to qualified customers/locations.
- Lead solution development efforts that address customer needs, coordinating the involvement of all necessary company personnel.
- Meet profitability expectations.
- Achieve customer objectives defined by company management.
- Complete customer account plans that meet company standards.
- Coordinate company executive involvement with customer management.
- Work with Customer Service Representatives to ensure customer satisfaction and problem resolution.
- Meet quarterly target expectations for CR
- Display program when posted. - Visit every customer with displays at least once per month and report visits via email to the Director of Sales.
- Plan and organize territory/region and plan sales calls weekly.
- Develop an action plan to approach designers, architects and builders when fabricator leads are found during weekly visits.
- Promote and demonstrate product knowledge at customer locations and invite customers to CR branches when possible.
- Participate in and leverage branch events to increase sales.
- Bachelor’s Degree or proven track record of at least 10 years of experience in sales and marketing.
- Prefer knowledge and experience in the building material industry.
- Ability to understand CR's competitors and develop plans to outperform them.
- Detail-oriented, highly organized with a hunter mentality for developing and executing strategic plans.
- Ability to discover, create, and develop new opportunities.
- Excellent verbal and writing skills, with a motivated, competitive drive to succeed.
- Minimum 50% travel on a regional basis to cover territory.
