Sales Engineer - BMSGeneral Summary:
The Sales Engineer is responsible for providing world-class product demonstrations to prospective Connect Wise partners. The Sales Engineer, through tenure and/or skill, demonstrates the product suite’s benefits to customers and aids in closing the technical sale. As the key technical resource and product advisor to sales executives and prospects, the Sales Engineer drives the technical evaluation stage of the sales process.
Working with the Sales team, the Sales Engineer drives revenue by consulting with prospective customers and recommending solutions to gain acceptance of the technical and business benefits of our software Suite. With your consent, reference checks may be conducted prior to receiving an offer.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Represent technical aspects of our suite of products and propose how these benefit prospective customers.
- Provide exemplary technical expertise and independent discretion in producing technical demonstrations and presentations.
- Execute proof of concepts with prospects at technical and business levels to show value; assess customer needs and recommend solutions that optimize value.
- Scope technical solutions to align product designs with customer requirements, including larger or more complex needs; apply requirements in the form of standard or custom proofs of concept and trials.
- Work independently or with a sales team to position technology to business and technical users in a consultative manner and through product capability assessments.
- Prepare, research and provide input into technical RFPs/RFQs.
- Articulate product enhancements, design requirements and engineering specifications to Product Management, Development, Consulting and other departments.
- Act as a key point of contact for Revenue staff to provide product knowledge and technology expertise through training, coaching and product support.
- Maintain an understanding of technical sales techniques and processes, including understanding customer needs, overcoming objections, and assisting in the development of business cases and technical deal closing.
- Pursue and maintain professional and technical knowledge through ongoing training to work independently as a key professional resource to the revenue organization.
Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities Required:
- Outstanding understanding of multiple Connect Wise products and their integration points.
- Advanced technology and industry knowledge, including best practices and processes.
- Ability to articulate company solution strategies at technical and business levels for their focus area.
- Excellent communication skills to articulate business and product needs to internal and external customers.
- Organized, detail oriented, self-motivated; able to navigate technical obstacles with creative and adaptive approaches.
- Strong presentation skills and the ability to communicate professionally in written responses to emails, RFPs, and reports.
- Flexible, dependable, and capable of quickly learning new products and technologies.
Educational/Vocational/Previous Experience Recommendations:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent business experience
- 3+ years of relevant experience
- Experience with Connect Wise Business Management Solutions
Working Conditions:
- Long or irregular working hours to meet deadlines, secure deals and attend conferences/events.
- Dynamic atmosphere of a rapidly expanding technology organization.
- 15% or greater travel may be required.
